My son (10 years old) woke up this morning with what looks like a blister on his gum. He did bang his gum with a toothbrush last night. Should I have him gently brush the "blister" to pop it?

I do not recommend popping the blister or forcefully brushing it at this time. If it is simply a blister, then it should heal on its own. If it is the sign of an infection, then the blister may remain and possibly grow larger over the next few days. If you are at all concerned that this is the case, I recommend visiting a local dentist.
